- To renew your Electrical Contractors License in the state of Alaska, you are required to complete 8 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
- Electrical Contractors License expire August 31 every odd-numbered year. Continuing Education requirements must be completed before expiration.
- The eight hours of continuing education must cover approved categories in the National Electrical Code book.
- Licensees must keep certificate of completion for at least four years. If the board chooses to audit the licensee, he must show certificate of completion within 30 days.

This 4-hour course purpose is to provide the student with a basic overview of the requirements found in the first two chapters of the 2005 National Electrical Code. The topics covered in this class include the layout of the code, how to understand the code terminology, and the general code requirements contained in chapters one and two. These topics include, grounding and bonding, minimum required clear working space, and the proper installation of branch circuits, feeders and services.

This 4-hour course is to provide the student with a basic overview of the requirements found in Chapter Three of the National Electrical Code. The topics covered in this class include basic requirements for installation of cables, outlet boxes, and raceways. During this course, the proper sizing of outlet boxes will be demonstrated, as well as the installation requirements for most of the commonly used raceways and cable types. We will also discuss the protection of conductors as related to the different environments faced.

This 4-hour course purpose is to provide the student with a basic overview of the requirements found in Chapter Four of the National Electrical Code. The topics covered in this class include special equipment such as motors, transformers, lighting fixtures, low voltage lighting, phase converters, generators, receptacles, panels, and switches. During this course, user should gain a more thorough understanding of the requirements established in this chapter.
NEC 2008 - Understanding the Code Changes

This 4-hour course purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the significant changes found in the 2008 National Electrical Code. Several of the changes found will impact the day-to-day installation procedures of most electricians.
